I just finished up my new tripod. I wanted something that would cradle my rifle a bit steadier than my shooting stick. And so this was born.
I found a camera tripod at a Goodwill for $4.
Add in about $2 worth of PVC scraps and fittings and apply a bit of judicious heat to the end of the fittings to curve and cup the ends.
Top it off with some rubberized coating. TaDa! Now I have a light weight (1 lb 14 oz) stand to hold my rifle for those occasions when adrenaline has my site picture at bit wobbly.
